Tamara Suju

Tamara Suju is an exiled Venezuelan lawyer and human rights activist. She compiled archive of evidence of torture, sexual violence, and arbitrary detentions in Venezuela, which she has used to testify before the International Criminal Court and the Organization of American States. Suju requested and received political asylum in the Czech Republic in 2014 after being threatened by the Venezuelan government. In November 2021 her calls for a criminal investigation into the Maduro regime came to fruition, with the ICC announcing a probe into its crimes against humanity.
