Analysis
- While the resolution is not as overtly anti-Israel as some of the other resolutions, in calling for a two-state solution, it singles out Israel for blame. The resolution calls for "an end to the Israeli occupation that began in 1967," but does not call for an end to Palestinian terrorism and rejection of Israel's right to exist as a Jewish state. Moreover, it calls for peace based on relevant UN resolutions, including the one-sided UN Security Council Resolution 2334, which blamed only Israel for the failure of peace negotiations, denied the right of Jewish people to live in the Old City of Jerusalem, and sought to predetermine final status issues which the Oslo Accords left to be decided by the parties in negotiations.

Key Criticism
- "Reiterates its call for the achievement, without delay, of a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in the Middle East on the basis of the relevant United Nations resolutions, including Security Council resolution 2334 (2016) of 23 December 2016, the Madrid terms of reference, including the principle of land for peace, the Arab Peace Initiative and the Quartet road map, and an end to the Israeli occupation that began in 1967, including of East Jerusalem, and reaffirms in this regard its unwavering support, in accordance with international law, for the two -State solution of Israel and Palestine, living side by side in peace and security within recognized borders, based on the pre-1967 borders."
