Analysis

• The resolution perpetuates a biased committee that is one of the veteran pillars of the UN's anti-Israel infrastructure. It is the only General Assembly human rights committee devoted to a single cause. The Committee's mandate concerns Israeli actions only and is inherently prejudiced and one-sided. Its reports systematically turn a blind eye to Palestinian terrorism against Israeli civilians.
• The resolution also adopts one-sided pro-Palestinian terminology, for example, by referring to Israel's victory in the 1948 war as the Nakba (which translates to disaster or catastrophe), a term that exclusively blames Israel for the plight of the Palestinians. At the same time, the resolution completely ignores the Arab states' refusal to accept the UN partition plan which would have given the Palestinians an independent state on part of the land, as well as the Arab states' initiation of the 1948 war against the nascent State of Israel with the goal of eliminating it.
