Analysis
- This one-sided resolution repeatedly criticizes Israel using extremely harsh language, calls Israeli actions illegal, and makes demands only of Israel. In essence, it blames Israel for the lack of peace. The references to terrorism are general and fail to name perpetrators on the Palestinian side.
- Furthermore, the resolution endorses politicized and biased ICJ advisory opinions that deny Israel's right to security and self-defense. Thus, the resolution "demands" Israel comply with the July 19, 2024 advisory opinion determining that the Israeli occupation violates international law and that Israel is guilty of apartheid against the Palestinians. In that regard, the resolution also calls for Israel to unilaterally withdraw from "the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem" and endorses resolution 194 which is routinely cited by the Palestinians as the source for their so-called "right of return," a major factor in perpetuating the conflict.
- It also endorses the October 22, 2025 advisory opinion which found that Israel has an "obligation" to cooperate with UNRWA, while ignoring extensive evidence of UNRWA's ties to Hamas.
- Separately, the resolution embraces the New York Declaration, the product of a highly politicized UN conference advancing the ICJ’s one-sided July 19, 2024 advisory opinion and Palestinian state recognition—a move criticized by the United States and Israel as rewarding Hamas’s October 7 terrorism rather than promoting peace.
- Finally, the text is redundant to several other resolutions and serves no purpose other than to demonize Israel.
