Elisabeth Burgos

Elisabeth Burgos-Debray, is a historian and anthropologist specialized in ethnopsychoanalysis. She won the Casa de las Américas Prize in 1983. She is the former wife of the French philosopher Régis Debray and was director of the Maison de l’Amérique Latine in Paris and of the Institut Cultural Français in Seville. For a long time, she was closely associated with Fidel Castro and the Cuban revolution, today she is an expert in socialist dictatorships in Latin America.
