Husna Jalal

Husna Jalal is an exiled Afghan women’s rights activist and the daughter of Massouda Jalal, Afghanistan’s first female presidential candidate. Following the Taliban’s return to power in 2021, she fled to the Netherlands, where she founded the Young Afghan Women’s Movement and Women for Change International to provide digital education, mental health resources, and advocacy networks for marginalized Afghan women. Recognized as a 2025–2026 Obama Foundation Europe Leader, Jalal continues to campaign globally against the Taliban’s gender apartheid.
