Jasem Aljuraid is a Kuwaiti journalist and political dissident known for his criticism of Iranian influence and Islamist extremism, as well as his support for regional normalization efforts such as the Abraham Accords. He gained international attention after addressing the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, where he criticized repeated condemnations of Israel and called for a more balanced approach to Middle East issues. Following his activism, he was sentenced in absentia to 12 years in prison in Kuwait and left the country, becoming a political refugee.
