Kritsina Bogos was repeatedly harrassed by authorities in both UAE and Qatar as a grad student doing research into treatment of migrant workers. Her 2016 op-ed on the subject in the New York Times dealt with, among other things, the complicity and indifference of her US universities (NYU and later Georgetown).
