Nestor Rodriguez Lobaina

Nestor Rodriguez Lobaina is a Cuban pro-democracy activist. In 1999 he was arrested for participating in a hunger strike in support of the Tamarindo 34, a group that completed 40 days of fasting for the 40 years Fidel Castro had been in power. In 2000 he was arrested again and sentenced to 6 years in prison – leading Amnesty International to label him a prisoner of conscience. He was released in July 2005.
