María Corina Machado is a Venezuelan opposition leader and activist. As a Member of Parliament, she stood out as one of the strongest and most critical voices when denouncing the institutional abuses of the regime, as well as the repression, the serious economic problems and, more recently, the humanitarian crisis that Venezuela is going through. For over a decade, she has faced persecution, restrictions, arbitrary decisions and threats to her life by the Maduro regime as a consequence of her unrelenting campaign for a free and democratic Venezuela.
