Zhanna Nemtsova

Zhanna Nemtsova is a journalist with the Germany-based international broadcaster Deutsche Welle and the daughter of the late Boris Nemtsov, a proeminent Russian pro-democracy politician, activist, and Putin critic, who had called out the illegal annexation of Ukraine in 2014, before being murdered near the Kremlin in February 2015.. Following her father’s assassination Ms. Nemtsova founded The Boris Nemtsov Foundation for Freedom, dedicated to the promotion of democracy and to keeping alive the memory of her late father. Ms. Nemtsova is the recipient of prestigious awards for her pro-democracy and freedom of the press activism.
