Francesca Albanese’s Seven Most Shameful Moments in August 2025

UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese abuses her UN mandate to propagate antisemitism and support terrorism, as documented by UN Watch.

Here are some of her latest outrages from the month of August:

1. Albanese Openly Defends Hamas, Whitewashes Terror Group as a “Political Force” (August 8, 2025)

In the shocking footage exposed by UN Watch—viewed nearly 5 million times—Albanese said at event in Sicily: People continue to say, ‘But Hamas, Hamas, Hamas…’ I don’t think people have any idea what Hamas is. Hamas is a political force that won the 2005 elections—whether we like it or not. Hamas built schools, public facilities, hospitals. It was simply the authority, the de facto authority.”

Albanese continued her defense of the Palestinian terror group: It is critical that you understand, that when you think of Hamas, you should not necessarily think of cut-throats, people armed to the teeth, or fighters. It’s not like that.”

U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee responded on social media: “Most stunningly offensive comment heard in a generation. ‘Hamas built schools…’. That’s as stupid as saying ‘Hannibal Lecter made creative culinary dishes.’ Citing UN Watch, the Jerusalem Post Editorial Board called for Albanese to be removed.

2. Albanese Claims Israel is Worse than Hamas, “Occupies” the Terror Group (August 23, 2025)

After Italian Senator Ivan Scalfarotto called out Albanese for refusing to call Hamas a terrorist organization, Albanese doubled down by not only comparing Israel to Hamas, but implying that the Jewish state is even worst than the terror group. She responds: “The UN rapporteurs follow the UN rules that do not designate Hamas as a terrorist organization. Nor do they call Israel a terrorist, which has killed many more civilians. The UN condemns the crimes of both. The difference is that one has been the occupier for over half a century, the other the occupied.”

3. Albanese Compares Israeli Actions to Hitler’s “Final Solution,” Says Concerns from Jewish Communities “Should be Ignored” (August 11, 2025)

While speaking in Italy, Albanese outrageously claims that plans to “reoccupy Gaza” are equivalent to Hitler’s “Final Solution” which was orchestrated to destroy the Jewish People. She adds that this time, “Israel, led by Netanyahu—but not only Netanyahu—is trying to annihilate as many Palestinians as possible.”

During the same event, Albanese also blamed “Jewish communities” for issuing “threats” to “silence” debate. She then asks “what remains of democracy when debate is silenced in the name of fighting antisemitism, ” adding that these Jewish communities should be “ignored by the institutions” about their concerns over antisemitism.

4. Albanese Attacks Holocaust Survivor and Italian Senator Liliana Segre (August 3, 2025)

Holocaust survivor Liliana Segre holds one of the highest honors in all of Italy, currently serving as one of five members of the Italian Senate who are appointed as “senators for life.” Nonetheless, this did not stop Albanese from attacking Segre for raising awareness about antisemitism and for objecting to the abuse of the word “genocide” in reference to Gaza.

In May of this year, Segre gave an interview stating that the actions of the Israeli government are being blamed on the entire Jewish people, causing a rise in antisemitism. In response, Albanese called it “indecent” for Segre to be “instrumentalizing the fight against antisemitism” while “the most criminal government Israel has ever had… expels, kills, starves, and tortures members of a people.”

Adding to the saga, this month Segre gave another interview in which she opposed the use of the term “genocide” when referring to Gaza, adding that “people with antisemitic feelings” have been manipulating the term. That same day, Albanese shared Segre’s interview while adding that “the word genocide is not loaded with hate.” A day later Albanese jabbed at Segre even further, posting a photo in front of her mural while adding the caption: “#GazaGenocide‌. Day 665.”

5. Albanese Again Denies Rape and Sexual Violence by Hamas on October 7th (August 25, 2025)

Since Hamas’s barbaric attacks on October 7th, the Albanese has repeatedly denied and downplayed the evidence of rape occurring by Hamas against Israeli civilians. This comes as a new UN report on Conflict-Related Sexual Violence for 2024 added Hamas to its blacklist for patterns of sexual violence. The report from the UN Secretary-General confirmed that they “found clear and convincing information that some hostages taken to Gaza were subjected to various forms of conflict-related sexual violence during their time in captivity” and that they “found reasonable grounds to believe that sexual violence occurred during the attacks of 7 October 2023 in multiple locations, including rape and gang rape.”

However, despite this new report, this month during a webinar in Italian, Albanese again claimed that “there isn’t a shred of proof that rapes were committed, let alone mass rapes… There is no proof of rape, especially there is no proof of children hanged, tortured. There is none.” In contrast, Albanese maintained that “Muslims” in Israeli prisons have been “raped by people and by animals.” See other instances of Albanese’s denial of Hamas’s crimes of sexual violence in the video below:

6. Albanese Defends Hamas Fighter Killed While Pointing RPG Towards IDF Tank (August 20, 2025)

On social media, Albanese shared a video of an IDF tank running over an armed Hamas terrorist who appears to be pointing an RPG directly towards the tank. However, instead of praising this elimination by the IDF, Albanese called it a “horrid crime scene” and part of Israel’s purported “genocide.”

7. Albanese Tells Tehran-Controlled Media that Israel an “Ethnocracy,” Democracy Distinction is a “Fake Label” (August 8, 2025)

Ironically, in an interview with Iranian state-controlled media, Albanese states that “it’s impossible not to think of Israel as an apartheid state, Israel as an ethnocracy. I mean, people understand instinctively that ‘the only democracy of the Middle East’ is just a fake label that won’t stick anywhere else other than to the lies of some failed politician.”

In reality, Israel is a democratic nation with free and competitive elections, an independent judiciary, a vibrant press, and full political participation for all citizens. Of course, this includes the 2 million Arabs Israelis who not only vote but also serve in parliament, the judiciary, the military, and at the highest levels of government. For Albanese to spew these falsehoods on Iranian Press TV, an organ of the world’s most repressive theocracy, is as offensive to the victims of the Islamic regime as it is ironic.
