Vicente Leon Ventura Magistrado de Lima II is the youngest sibling of detained Filipina Senator Leila M. de Lima II. Leila De Lima is leading pro-democracy and human rights politician and activist, serving as a Senator between 2016 and 2022, she also served as Justice Secretary. A vocal critic of the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte, she was arrested in 2017 under what critics have called made-up charges linked to the New Bilibid Prison drug trafficking scandal during her term as the Justice Secretary. She remains unjustly detained since then for speaking truth to power.
