34th plenary meeting: of the General Assembly 67th session: 1. Election of seven members of the Committee for Programme and Coordination: note by the Secretary-General (A/67/125) [item 110 (a)] 2. Election of eighteen members of the Human Rights Council [item 110 (d)] first vote
On Wednesday, 193 member states will vote to elect 18 new countries on to the UN Human Rights Council. Sadly, their past votes show that oppressive regimes like China, Russia, Cuba and Saudi Arabia often get elected, largely due to political interests and backroom deals.
Now, however, citizens around the world can vote Yes or No on this year’s problematic candidates, by clicking below. The results will be shared with the UN.
