Francesca Albanese’s Seven Most Shocking Statements in September 2025

UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese abuses her UN mandate to propagate antisemitism and support terrorism, as documented by UN Watch.

Here are some of her latest outrages from the month of September:

1. Albanese Outrageously Claims the Death Toll in Gaza is 680,000, Admits She Made False Statement to be “Provocative” (September 15, 2025)

At a press conference at the U.N. in Geneva, Albanese claimed that people “should start the thinking of 680,000” as the “real death toll in Gaza.” She then added that of these 680,000 killed, 380,000 of those are infants under the age of five.

Despite the glaring inaccuracy of these figures, Albanese then states that it will “be hard to be able to prove or disprove this number.” However, in reality, census data from the Palestinian Authority refutes these impossible figures. For instance, according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, only 341,790 children under five live in the Gaza Strip, nearly 40 thousand less than the figure Albanese claims were dead. In other words, Albanese alleges more children under the five were killed than those that lived in the Gaza Strip, a claim that is not only false but mathematically impossible.

In an interview the following week, Albanese admitted she used these numbers for the shock factor, saying, “in that interview, the largest figure I deliberately mentioned in a provocative way had the effect I wanted — it made people nod their heads and say, ‘What’s going on?’ These numbers are highly disputed.”

Rather than remaining committed to presenting the facts on the ground, Albanese has chosen to inflate casualty numbers in Gaza to advance her own biased political agenda. Of course, this is not the first time Albanese has propagated false numbers concerning Palestinian death tolls.

2. Albanese Claims She is Being Treated Like Osama bin Laden (September 22, 2025)

In an Italian interview, Albanese explained how American sanctions and ‘smear’ campaigns have impacted her, stating, “I am treated almost like Osama bin Laden. And I say almost because there isn’t a warrant for my arrest.”

By likening her sanctions to the treatment of Osama bin Laden, the mastermind of the September 11th terror attacks, Albanese is implying that she is being subjected overly extreme repercussions, a grave injustice to her.

Even overlooking the fact that the U.S. is, of course, not hunting Albanese down with nearly the same ferocity of Al Qaeda terrorists, Albanese’s attempt to portray her sanctions as a flagrant violation ignores the facts: her reappointment as UN Special Rapporteur was illegitimate, meaning she no longer enjoys diplomatic immunity. The U.S. sanctions against her are therefore lawful and justified, despite her best efforts to claim otherwise.

3. Albanese Exploits the Symbolism of Yom Kippur to Rally Support for the Flotilla Publicity Stunt (September 30, 2025)

Albanese reposted a tweet from a member of the latest illegal flotilla stunt, which claims that the flotilla’s arrival at the Israeli blockade near Yom Kippur is a form of atonement for the sins of Israel. Albanese then tokenizes this testimony, tweeting that “this is such a powerful message, that makes all of us – regardless of religion – aware of and able to think of the meaning of Yom Kippur.”

Rather than respecting the sanctity of one of the holiest days in Judaism, Albanese jumps on the opportunity to politicize the holiday to advance her own political narrative. Albanese has also tweeted a call for “countries to mobilise their fleets to grant the flotilla safe passage to Gaza” in order “to break the blockade.”

4. Albanese Refers to UN Watch and Hillel Neuer as “The Pro-Genocide Mafia” (September 20, 2025)

Albanese quote-tweeted a post highlighting UN Watch’s report which exposed her attempts to conceal her funding by Pro-Hamas groups.

The report reveals that Albanese’s 2023 visits to New Zealand and Australia were funded by groups including the Palestinians in Aotearoa Coordinating Committee (PSNA), which called the October 7 attacks “understandable,” and the Australian Friends of Palestine Association (AFOPA), which described Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar as “incredibly moving” following his death.

In response, she wrote that “the pro-genocide mafia returns to Italy to ‘cover things up’ with a barrage of empty words: a lie does not become the truth just because it is repeated hundreds of times, even if the gullible are never in short supply — especially where ignorance and prejudice abound.”

5. Albanese Refers to Gaza as a “Ghetto,” Compares Gaza to the Holocaust (September 6, 2025)

At a Press conference in the UN Human Rights Council, Albanese stated that she has in mind “the millions of Palestinians trapped in the Gaza Ghetto.” Albanese deliberately uses language associated with the Holocaust to draw a false parallel between the suffering of Jews under Nazi persecution and the situation of Palestinians in Gaza.

Later in the month, Albanese again drew false equivalencies with the Holocaust, stating in an interview that Gaza “is not the first genocide that happens in plain sight. The Holocaust happened in plain sight.” In doing so, she distorts history and goes so far as to equate the descendants of Holocaust survivors with the perpetrators themselves.

6. Albanese Condemns the Italian Jewish Community Over Concerns for Feeling Threatened (September 14, 2025)

When schools across Turin, Italy marked the start of the new academic year with a minute of silence for Gaza, the Union of Italian Jewish Communities appealed to the Ministry of Education, warning against singling out the suffering of one group in a school setting.

In response to this appeal, Albanese wrote:

“I don’t understand why so much of the Jewish community in Italy feels called into question every time Gaza is mentioned. Hundreds of thousands of people have been killed and mutilated — dear God, no one is asking anything of you, no one is coming to bother you, but please, stop it. Stop feeling offended or threatened every time the crimes of Israel — and worse, its victims — are spoken about. No state, no reason of state, and not even any religion is more important than respect for human life. Please, please, grant us at least a few minutes to mourn the victims.”

By portraying Jewish concerns as overreactions and suggesting they are interfering with grief for Palestinian victims, Albanese erases the community’s legitimate fears of bias in public spaces.

7. Albanese Further Demonizes Israelis by Calling on FIFA and UEFA to Ban Israel’s Soccer Team (September 23, 2025)

Once again, Albanese called on FIFA and the UEFA to “suspend Israel from international football over the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people.”

These efforts to prevent an Israeli civilian team from playing in international sports leagues feeds into Albanese’s persistent efforts to dehumanize Israelis and isolate them from the international community. By making Israel’s participation conditional on ending alleged “genocide” and “apartheid,” Albanese turns uninvolved athletes into purported criminals.
