Senate to Confirm Top U.S. Reps to UN Human Rights Posts

On Tuesday afternoon, September 24, the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee will hold hearings to examine the nominations of:

  • Tomasz P. Malinowski, to be Assistant Secretary for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor
  • Keith Michael Harper, of Maryland, for the rank of Ambassador during his tenure of service as U.S. Representative to the UN Human Rights Council (replacing Ambassador Eileen Chamberlain Donahoe)
  • Pamela K. Hamamoto, of Hawaii, to be U.S. Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva, with the rank of Ambassador (replacing Ambassador Betty King)
  • Crystal Nix-Hines, of California, for the rank of Ambassador to UNESCO (replacing David Killion)
