A top official in the UN Human Rights Office today admitted that he was forced to leave after UN Watch exposed his decades-long litany of hateful statements and social media posts targeting Israel and calling for its elimination, in violation of his sworn UN duty to be impartial.
“I was forced out,” admitted top UN official Craig Mokhiber in an interview with The Geneva Observer, ”in the sense that I was put in conditions that I didn’t want to work in.”
“There was a kind of crackdown on me, I was basically told to be silent, not to say anything in public that the High Commissioner hadn’t said,” said Mokhiber, who served as director of the New York bureau of the UN Human Rights Office.
According to a report in The Guardian, Mokhiber was under review by the UN since March 2023, after a detailed report by UN Watch exposed how Mokhiber had committed gross and systematic violations of his duty of impartiality by calling for the effective end to the state of Israel, whom he obsessively accused of “genocide,” “large-scale atrocities” and “right-wing white ethno-nationalist terrorism.”
In February, Mokhiber posted that was a “decades long reality of ongoing genocide in Palestine.”
The most recent pogroms, this time in #Huwara , are just the latest evidence that the international community needs to finally confront the decades long reality of ongoing #genocide in #Palestine, in accordance with Article II of the the Genocide Convention. #HumanRights
