A social media blitzkrieg against Israel that was launched by the UN rights office on the same day as the release of a report by a commission of inquiry on Gaza protests calls into question the credibility and quasi-judicial nature of the investigation.
The inquiry is supposed to be composed of three commissioners who are independent of both the 47-nation UN Human Rights Council, and the 1,000-strong office of the UN High Commissioner for human rights (OHCHR).
The combined assault on Israel by the appointed commissioners and the OHCHR bureaucrats only rewards Hamas’ deliberate strategy of causing Palestinian injuries in order to win international political support.
